Information Security

The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing has paid great attention to the vision of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 2030, as one of its most important goals is the transformation towards the digital world and the development of digital infrastructure. Since this transformation requires the flow of information, its security and the integration of its systems; The Ministry's Information Security Department has recently been restructured to align with the basic cybersecurity controls provided by the National Cybersecurity Authority. (ECC)

These controls aim to provide the minimum basic requirements for information security to ensure that risks related to information and technology assets are reduced, and to achieve the basic objectives of protection, namely:

• Information Security.
• Information safety.
• Information availability.

These objectives will be achieved through the following:

•  Building an integrated strategy that includes assessing and analyzing risks and ensuring the safety and security of all systems on an ongoing basis.
• The ability to detect and confront cyberattacks and hacking attempts and deal quickly with them to prevent their occurrence or limit their effects.
•  Implementing interactive awareness programs on information security for all employees of the Ministry.
